A campaign biography for Fremont's presidential bid with the newly constituted Republican party. The author was a Unitarian minister, who wrote about the Salem Witch Trials and Cotton Matther. He was also the brother-in-law of Oliver Wendell Holmes. The covers have wear and the pages have foxing. The book has been signed by General Fremont on the title page.
